I am amazed by the number of calls and emails I receive every week from past students and working professionals looking to connect with Rich… “He was my teacher!” “He was amazing!”, “Rich was the only reason I finished the program.” “He should be teaching still!”
I don’t think he really understands how many calls I get regularly. So, I have been urging him to create some workshops.
After researching Summer Film Camps for our son, I think I’m finally starting to get him to listen to me. I have suggested workshops that range from the basic understanding of manual DSLR & Camera Controls, Workshops on Advanced Studio Lighting that would be geared to the seasoned professional, as well as Workshops that would be geared to Graduates picking up where Hallmark left off!
When he said you have no idea whether anyone would be interested, I decided to post a little article he wrote for a local publication.
Here it is….
We are Celebrating 30 Years!!!
On October 1, 1986, we officially opened our studio and we never could of imagined the amazing people and places we would experience in our daily happenings here at Barnes Portrait Design.
Just the other day, a great client we have worked with since the beginning, who has had having children, her family, and now her grandchildren photographed, reminded me that she came because of the first promotion we ever did; It was a Family Portrait Special at a very beautiful local park, which we titled “A Day in the Park “. She remembered that the session fee was just $30. Laughing, she said ” We had no idea if you were even any good, but we figured for $30 what do we have to loose!” She then proudly went on to tell us that that very family portrait is still the centerpiece of her living room. That was so great to hear!
That got us thinking;
Why couldn’t we do the same thing all over again?
So that’s what we are going to do!
We have been able to set aside a few weekend days in the next couple of weeks (including Sundays)!
And to Celebrate 30 Amazing Years,
the session fee will be just $30 (just like in 1986)!
There will also be Special Packages & Collections all backed up with
the same quality that has helped us grow over three decades.
